This includes training and competition facilities, equipment, uniforms, housing and meals at events, awards, coaches’ education and much more.
Special Olympics North Carolina works with each corporation to create a customized partnership that may include marketing opportunities, employee engagement and recognition at corporate special events and sports competitions.
Recognition of all contributions and marketing dollars is commensurate with the level of support and tailored to that corporation or organization.
Your company can partner in the following ways:
- Seasonal or year-round partnerships
- Fundraising event partnerships
- Employee volunteerism and fundraising
- Promotional campaigns (Cause Marketing)
- Goods & services partnerships
The average cost to provide Special Olympics programs to one athlete for one year is $200. Members of the Sponsor An Athlete program provide sport and event equipment, athletic uniforms, travel expenses, and training expenses – the ski slopes, bowling lanes, tennis courts, swimming pools and soccer fields on which dreams come true every day. Sponsor an Athlete and see the JOY for yourself.
For most of us, our charitable giving helps us answer significant questions such as “Who am I?” and “What are my values?” Our giving might be something learned from our parents, based in faith, or driven by a life-changing event. As a result, leaving a legacy is much more than a financial aspiration—it represents a chance to pass along our values.
Your legacy gift will ensure that our work empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to become physically fit, productive and respected members of society through sports training and competition continues long into the future.
For questions, please contact Connie Grandmason, Special Olympics Senior Director of Planned Giving, toll-free at 866-690-3951 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
A Donor Advised Fund (DAF), also known as a charitable giving account, is a charitable giving opportunity that allows donors to make a contribution, receive an immediate tax benefit and then recommend grants from the fund over time to support their favorite causes. Learn more about supporting Special Olympics using a DAF at this link.
Change a life, one paycheck at a time. Designate Special Olympics in your workplace giving campaign, or ask that Special Olympics be included as a charity your company supports. Invite a Special Olympics Global Messenger to speak at a company lunch and learn or other employee gathering. Be inspired, and inspire others to join you in supporting Special Olympics.
Federal and state employees can support Special Olympics through CFC and SECC campaigns by using #71754 (federal) or #1520 (state).
Special Olympics North Carolina is able to provide first class sports training and athletic competition to people with intellectual disabilities thanks to the generous donations from corporate groups and individuals across the state.
In addition to monetary support, Special Olympics North Carolina is always in need of office and athletic equipment donations. For local programs, equipment such as chairs, tables, file cabinet and computers can can be a very large expense. Purchasing athletic equipment such as soccer goals, basketballs, sport apparel and bats and balls can also be difficult. Individuals, groups and businesses are encouraged to donate any new or used office or athletic equipment. Special Olympics North Carolina does not accept used trophies, plaques or exercise equipment.
Thanks to the support of donors, athletes are never a charged a fee to participate. For more information on donating equipment to Special Olympics North Carolina or to explore other volunteer opportunities, please contact Keith Fishburne at 800-843-6276 ext. 102.
