Tiffany Mizell and Renaldo Windham of Windsor, NC, have been named the local program co-coordinators for Special Olympics Bertie County effective immediately, according to SONC President/CEO Keith L. Fishburne.
In these volunteer positions, Mizell and Windham will manage a committee that carries out Special Olympics activities within Bertie County and helps provide sports training, competition opportunities, and health and wellness initiatives for children and adults who have intellectual disabilities. Under Mizell and Windham’s leadership, the committee will recruit, train and manage local volunteers, and work to increase athlete participation as well as raise funds in support of the local program.
Both Mizell and Windham work in the Exceptional Children Services department at Bertie County Schools. Under previous leadership, they volunteered with Special Olympics Bertie County and assisted with Spring Games.
