Special Olympics at the local community level in North Carolina is mainly organized by county. Each year, local programs host Spring Games taking place March through May.
Nearly 40,000 Special Olympics athletes take part in Spring Games, which primarily feature athletic competition in track and field events; however, some counties offer other sports as well.
Note: The listed time for each Spring games reflects the start of Opening Ceremony with competition following approximately 30 minutes later.
Athlete Registration and Volunteering
All registration for these events for both participants and volunteers is organized through the local program coordinator. That person can best be reached via email.
If your community is not listed, please note that we are still offering the at-home fitness program, Partner Up Power Up, statewide so we have an alternative way to keep athletes active. Reach out to your local program coordinator to learn more!
