What’s a Truck Convoy?

The Truck Convoy is an annual event which unites law enforcement and truckers to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics athletes  and change attitudes toward people with intellectual disabilities. Two thousand big rig trucks will traverse throughout the United States and Canada throughout the year. More than 100 trucks travel 28 miles up and down I-485 before returning to the zMax Dragway for a celebratory lunch.

Do you want the honor of being the lead or last truck in the Convoy?
Here’s how:

During the Opening Ceremony, you will have the chance to participate in the Lead and Last Truck auction. If you bid the highest for either category, you will receive the honor of being the lead or last truck of the Convoy, signified by a large banner attached to your vehicle.

HOW?

Participants are encouraged to raise as much as possible, but a minimum donation of $100 is required to participate in the Truck Convoy.

Things to know

All trucks entering the convoy must be of 10-GVW or larger and can include, but are not limited to, semi-trucks, truck/trailer combinations, large trucks, low-boys, dump trucks, flat beds, buses, large tow trucks, large box trucks, etc.

Prizes

Each year, truck drivers can bid to be the lead truck and last truck of the Truck Convoy.
