2022 Torch Run Relay – Bladen County

Law enforcement officers throughout North Carolina will carry the Special Olympics Flame of Hope across the state throughout May and early June. Traveling across North Carolina from six different points and spanning over 2,000 miles, the relays will culminate on Friday, June 3, for the Circle of  Honor and lighting of the cauldron at the 2022 Special Olympics NC Summer Games Opening Ceremony in Raleigh.

This leg will feature runners from Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, NC State Highway Patrol Troop B District 5, Elizabethtown Police Department, White Lake Police Department and Bladenboro Police Department. We welcome everyone in the community to come out to the starting point to cheer on law enforcement!

As the largest awareness campaign for the North Carolina Law Enforcement Torch Run ® for Special Olympics (NC LETR), law enforcement members, known as Guardians of the Flame, are part of the worldwide movement, championing acceptance and inclusion for people with intellectual disabilities, starting first with their own communities.
