Special Olympics North Carolina Athletes Excel at the 9th Annual Special Olympics Xperience Tennis Invitational in Charlottesville, Virginia

1/28/16 Raleigh, N.C. – Four Special Olympics North Carolina athletes competed in the 9th annual Special Olympics Xperience Tennis Invitational at the Boar’s Head Sports Club in Charlottesville, Virginia on Jan. 14-16, according to Keith L. Fishburne, president/CEO of Special Olympics North Carolina.

Kevin Olin (Orange): 4th Place Ribbon

Kara Diachenko (Mecklenburg): Silver Medal

Jake Boyer (Forsyth): Bronze Medal

Steven Burger (Orange): 4th Place Ribbon

The event was hosted by Special Olympics Virginia. The Xperience brought together 32 of the top Special Olympics tennis athletes in the nation for three days of round-robin tournament play. Athletes also enjoyed a University of Virginia tennis clinic and community doubles play, all at a world class venue.
