North Carolina is proud to offer one of the largest Special Olympics
programs in the world with more than 38,000 athletes with intellectual
disabilities participating. In addition to competing at the local,
area and state-level games, athletes can also participate in regional
competitions.
Special Olympics North Carolina joins programs in South Carolina,
Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and Mississippi to make up
the Southeast Region as part of Special Olympics North America.
