We DARE YOU to come plunge into the wintry waters of Lake Raleigh on Centennial Campus at NC State University on Feb. 22!  This unique event kicks off the NC State Police Department’s fundraising efforts to benefit the North Carolina Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.

The North Carolina Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics unites officers from law enforcement agencies and corrections departments across the state in an effort to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics. Special Olympics is a year-round sports organization for children & adults with intellectual disabilities. We offer sports training and competition in 19 Olympic-type sports to more than 38,000 athletes across the state.  Athletes are never charged a fee to participate. As a 501(c)3 private non-profit, SONC relies on generous donations from individuals, businesses and civic organizations for funding.

What is the Polar Plunge?

The Polar Plunge is a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations, and businesses to support Special Olympics North Carolina athletes by taking an icy dip in the frigid waters of Lake Raleigh. The event is open to the public - all spectators are welcome free of charge - so invite your friends to come watch you plunge and then encourage them to get involved.  Visit polarplungenc.com For tips on hope to maximize your fundraising and polar plunge experience.
