Special Olympics North Carolina is organized at the grassroots level with nearly 100 accredited local programs serving every county in the state. Local programs are managed by local coordinators who oversee all aspects of athlete registration, sports training, competition, fundraising and volunteer management.
North Carolina is divided into six geographic areas under an area management system that is in place to improve the quality of programming at the local level. SONC has area offices in Asheville, Charlotte, Greensboro, Greenville, Morrisville and Wilmington. The SONC headquarters office is based in Morrisville.
