Pamlico County

Welcome to Special Olympics Pamlico County!

We are excited about new changes in Special Olympics Pamlico County!

Jaclyn Denney is a kindergarten teacher at Pamlico Primary, working with children with and without disabilities.  Jackie was previously a Pre-K/NC Pre-K teacher in Pamlico County.  She has been instrumental in helping grow Special Olympics in Pamlico over the last few months.  SO Pamlico County just held their very first Polar Plunge, and are gearing up for the first ever Spring Games!  They have created and grown their committee, held several successful fundraisers, and are very active in helping expand Young Athletes around their area and the state.  We are so excited to have this energy and excitement down in Pamlico County!

And you too can join in on this excitement!  We are looking for local program leadership, volunteers to coach, be committee members, sponsors and more.  We are also looking for all eligible Special Olympics Pamlico County athletes too. Contact Jackie for more information!

Special Olympics Pamlico County Polar Plunge was held Saturday, February 27 @ Arlington Place, Burton Clubhouse, 57 Burton Farm Rd., Arapahoe.

Over 25 people took the plunge for Special Olympics Pamlico County!

Unified Champion Schools
All four Pamlico County schools are a part of Unified Champion Schools!  We cannot wait to see all the inclusive activities the students will do as they work to become agents of change in their community!

Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools is an education and sports based program created by Special Olympics to build an inclusive environment among youth with and without intellectual disabilities as well as empower them to become youth leaders and speak up for change in their community.
