Welcome to Special Olympics Forsyth County! Our local program is based out of Winston-Salem Recreation & Parks and serves nearly 1,500 children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Training and competition are offered year-round in 14 Olympic-style sports. Volunteers make Special Olympics possible! Get involved! Inclement Weather: If practices are cancelled due to inclement weather, athletes will be contacted either by the Coach or SOFC Staff Liaison via phone and/or e-mail. SOFC will also post a notice on the Facebook page.

Info: A time to move, groove and engage in physical exercise for persons with disabilities. Meets at Sprague St. Rec. Center

Where: Little Creek
Info: Mind, body and spirit strengthening class for individuals with and without disabilities. Participants experience ways to decrease stress, improve relaxation and learn about the practice of Yoga. Meets at Little Creek Rec. Center
Where: Georgia Taylor
Info: Music Therapy program for people with physical and intellectual disabilities. Participants create poetry to music, sing, dance, and gain exposure to different forms of music. In a social group setting, participants have a chance to be imaginative and experience freedom of self-expression. Meets at Georgia Taylor Rec. Center
Where: Sedge Garden Recreation Center
Info: A new, and fun line dancing class for people with and without disabilities. Will meet at Sedge Garden Rec. Center

Social Animals Group
When: 3rd Tuesday of every month
Where: Family Services Center (1200 S. Broad Street)
Info: Come join the Social Animals Group for adults with intellectual disabilities (ages 18+). This is a fun time to meet others, build friendships, play games and other activities, and pizza will be served! Attendance Fee is $5.00. Carolina Thunderbirds Olympic Night
When: Saturday, February 17th, 2018
Where: Winston-Salem Fairgrounds Annex
Event Info: Come kick off the 2018 Winter Olympics with the Carolina Thunderbirds! The Carolina Thunderbirds are hosting an Olympic Night where a few of SOFC’s Athletes will make an appearance! If you are interested in attending this game, please call Carlie Pudney at 336-727-2425. Individuals Tickets are $8 and Group Ticket Packages range from $12-$21.
Cops vs. Docs Hockey Fundraiser
