The Special Olympics goal is to improve the lives of individuals with
intellectual disabilities through sport, by empowering them both on and
off the playing field and bringing them into the larger society where
by they are respected and accepted.

Becoming a Special Olympics volunteer in North Carolina is as simple
as signing up! Volunteers can fill out the volunteer
registration form or contact your local program to find out what opportunities
exist for you!
Interested in becoming a Special Olympics coach. Fill out the coaching
registration form! Special Olympics North Carolina offers a free coaches
education system whereby you can become a certified Special Olympics coach
in any of the 20 sports offered.
Special Olympics is always FREE to anyone who wishes to participate.
The financial and in-kind support of donors and sponsors make it possible
to provide Special Olympics athletes athletic training and sports competitions
at no cost to them!
