Special Olympics is absolutely FREE of charge to
any eligible individual wishing to participate thanks to the monetary
donations of individual supporters and corporate sponsors.
This incredible generosity is what makes it possible for Special
Olympics North Carolina to allow people with intellectual disabilities
develop physical fitness, self-confidence and share their gifts
and achievements with others.
To ensure the continued success of Special Olympics North Carolina,
each year SONC several unique state-wide fundraising
events are held to further engage the public’s awareness
and support of the organization.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run®
in North Carolina generates more than a $1 million for Special Olympics
athletes every year. Law enforcement officers are very active
in communities throughout the state and generate funds through local
fundraising events such as Polar Plunges, Tip-A-Cop, Cops on Top
building sits and more!
