Darius Robinson represented North Carolina in the 2014 Special Olympics USA games in Princeton, NJ in cycling. Darius received silver in all of his cycling events – 5K, 10k and 15k. His family was in attendance as well to help coach and cheer him on.
Ron and Lynn Stipe and their three sons, Connor, Landon and Thomas, were announced as the 2013 Family of the Year for Special Olympics North Carolina at the cycling venue at Fall Tournament. They are very deserving of this award for all they do for our program and the athletes. A full coverage article of the Stipe’s family is available in the Charlotte Observer.
Special Olympics Cabarrus County won first place in the Civic category at the Concord Christmas Parade in November, 2013. Special thanks to all who volunteered to design, build, and pull the float. A special thank you to all of the athletes and family members who turned out to participate in the parade and represent Cabarrus County!
