The SONC Board of Directors is comprised of professionals from various backgrounds who meet quarterly to review organizational issues and progress and to provide input to the president of Special Olympics North Carolina.  Each member is elected for a three year term with the option to renew once.

Volunteer Opportunities

The 2018 SONC Equestrian Tournament needs you! Volunteers are needed to assist with competition, venue set-up and awards throughout the weekend of Sept. 28-30.  All volunteers who are serving a full-day shift will be given lunch.

Join us at our largest fundraiser of the year. We need volunteers to work in a variety of capacities while up to 100 individuals rappel down the Wells Fargo building in downtown Raleigh. Please select a shift where you can work the entire time. We will provide a T-Shirt and for those working 6 hours or more, we will also provide a meal.

Fall Tournament will be in the Charlotte area November 9-11.  We will have 6 sports and 2 special events with venues in Charlotte, Matthews and Indian Trail.

Special Olympics North Carolina needs help throughout the year in our office and warehouse.  We handle data entry for newly registered athletes and volunteers.  We maintain a large warehouse with almost everything that you need for a sports event and use various items throughout the year so we need volunteers to keep it all in order.  Please signup online or email with questions.  We welcome groups of 4 or 5 to join us as well.
